Other cultivars of lettuce are also known:
– sałata krucha, with large heads and brittle leaves, which has a low tendency to strike flower shoots and is therefore particularly suitable for summer cultivation;
– sałata rzymska, which creates loose heads and stiff rosettes; also suitable for summer cultivation, but it gives way to crisp lettuce;
– sałata liściowa, which does not form heads, and the leaves are loosely arranged, it is grown in greenhouses;
– sałata łodygowa, the edible part of which is the coarse- my rush. It can be boiled, pickle or eat it raw.
