PARK ROSES

This group of roses is called park roses because of this, that they are used primarily as perfect and effective ornamental shrubs, which we commonly plant in parks. In terms of their properties, they are similar to common ornamental shrubs. These roses stand out, similar to the roses previously discussed, healthy, strong growth, low soil and site requirements, high resistance to frost and easy to reproduce. Among many species, The following races and varieties stand out here: centifolia rose - Rosa centifolia L., damask rose - Rosa damascena Mill., yellow rose - Rosa foetida Herrm., storm rose - Rosa wichuraiana Crep. and their hybrids. Within the specified species, there are today a whole lot of varieties obtained through breeding, often outperforming the parent species. Park roses also include numerous hybrids of our wild and domesticated species, mainly hybrids of R.. rough, R. rubiginosa and R. French, which species are listed in the group of wild roses. We have only a dozen or so items in production, because park roses are unpopular in our conditions, despite the fact that - mainly for green areas - they are high-class plant material, in no way inferior to the species of the previous group.
