Folding hive stand

Folding hive stand. The rack has a simple structure, is cheap, strong, easy to set up and takes up little space when folded. When placed on a soft ground, it evenly enters the soil and does not tilt the hive. Performance Notes (collected by points consistent with the numbers of the rack elements listed in the table

hive stand26. The legs of the stand may be made of solid pieces of wood or of pieces obtained by breaking smaller pieces together, e.g. pieces of boards 200 x 40 x 22 i 200 x 40 x 17.

27. The two center laths have holes bored in the center all the way across, and the two extreme to the depth 30.

The order of assembly of elements. In the holes: the lower edge strip, middle strips, then a metal rod is inserted into the upper end bar. On this rod, between the slats, shims are put in or too, while nailing the strips to the legs of the stand, points out, that there is play between the slats (ok. 1). The strips to the legs of the stand are nailed in pairs – first with third and second with fourth, with at least three nails, approx. 50. In case of cracking of the moldings, nails should be blunted. Compensation strips 28 is nailed alternately on both sides of one of the middle bars 27b. Their width should cover the distance between the batten, to which they are nailed, and the corresponding edge strip. Compensating strips largely prevent the hive from tilting when the stand is bogged down in the soft ground. These strips also decide about the maximum (correct) opening the stand.
