Selection of varieties recommended for production

Too many varieties of fruit trees and shrubs from one producer are undesirable. Because each variety has some, characteristic of each other, biological properties, which must be taken into account when performing beauty treatments, harvest, packing and storing fruit. With these considerations in mind, the Ministry of Agriculture issues regulations, known as "Selection of varieties recommended for production”, determining, what varieties and in what quantity should be produced in nurseries. In orchards with an area of a few, to several dozen, hectares, the number of varieties of one species should not exceed 4-6. In orchards of several hundred hectares, it is recommended to cultivate more varieties, one must remember, that the optimal agrotechnical period of fruit harvesting is usually a few days for one variety.
Horticultural cooperatives organize the production and purchase of fruit, fruit and vegetable industry plants and agricultural cooperatives.
Institutions listed, based on knowledge of the current and future requirements of the local fruit market, they suggest to fruit growers the species and varietal composition in the orchards that are usually associated with them. These suggestions should take into account the natural conditions of the area, as well as the assessment of the microclimatic and soil conditions of the site, on which the orchard is to grow.
