Due to the high probability of lust for people and animals, the bee yard should be separated from generally accessible areas. It is accepted, that the apiary should be located at a distance of at least 10 m from dirt roads and 20 m od dróg bardziej ruchliwych. If it is not possible to keep such a distance or if there are gardens in the immediate vicinity of the apiary, courtyards, circulars, animal farms – you should enclose the apiary with a fence or a hedge of approx. 2 m. In the bee yard, hives with bees are usually placed on stands, outlets to the east, west or south. Hives exposed to strong sunlight during the summer should be painted white. It is more advantageous, if the hives are in partial shade during the summer, e.g. next to fruit trees. It is not recommended to place hives near buildings on the south and north side, in wetlands, airy and completely shaded, and also there, where are the large ant nests.
Bees must be able to withdraw water. If there are no tanks nearby, a special drinker should be placed on the bee yard. A water bottle for several families can also be a 3-liter jar…5I, secured with double gauze or sparse linen, turned upside down and positioned e.g.. on two narrow wooden slats.
