Loose-tiered crown

It is recommended to form a loose-tiered crown for trees with strong growth. One floor is formed during the year, consisting of 1 …3 branches. The distance between the floors should be approx. 50 cm. For this, in the years of crown formation, the conductor is trimmed in height 60 cm above the upper shoot of the lower floor. The shoots growing at the right angle and not shading the lower ones are always left in the second floor. The remaining shoots should be cut into the so-called. wedding ring, i.e.. directly behind the thickening at the root of the shoot. Applying a stronger pruning in the first years of the tree's life (compared to an almost natural crown) it is the cause of the trees entering the fruiting period later. A loose-leaf crown is formed in pear trees, apple trees, plums and apricots.
