Black fallow land

In order to better develop the plot, other plants can be grown between the trees. Growing coordinate between shrubs is not advisable, because the fruit bushes are sufficiently compacted. By deciding to cultivate the coordinate between the trees, pay attention to the correct selection of plants. They should not be plants with high water requirements in the period from May to July. So it's best to grow late cruciferous vegetables or tomatoes. However, after a few years, you should give up their cultivation, and maintain the soil in one of the following ways.
The area under the trees and around the shrubs can be kept in black fallow, that is, systematically cultivate the soil while destroying weeds, which take up water and nutrients. However, shallow-acting tools should be used, in order not to damage the root system of fruit plants. However, too frequent loosening of the soil increases its aeration, which accelerates the mineralization of organic components and, as a result, deteriorates the soil structure – it becomes more fluid and compact. This unfavorable phenomenon can be counteracted, using regular manure or other organic fertilizers.
Black fallow land should not be used on slopes and all kinds of slopes, where organic and mineral components may be leached from the soil, and during very intense rainfall even to wash away the fertile, its top layer (the phenomenon of erosion).
