Tree pollination systems

In practice, several mutual systems are known for the quarters of pollinators and pollinated cultivars. These systems are shown in the figure pollinationThe main difference between them is the mutual proportion of pollinators and pollinated cultivars. In the system of full rows of pollinators, good pollination is ensured by their individual rows. However, in order to facilitate the removal of fruit from the quarters; it is recommended to plant not less than two pollinator rows, especially if the fruits of the pollinated variety mature later. In chapters 3 i 4 pollinators for particular species of fruit trees and shrubs are discussed in detail.

Except for walnuts and hazelnuts, which are windproof, the flowers of all other fruit plants are pollinated by insects, and mainly by bees.

Research results indicate, that for a good pollination of flowers you need for 1 ha sadu 3-4 swarms of bees.

Many users of large orchards do not keep such large apiaries, and therefore it is more and more practiced to rent bees and place hives in orchards for the flowering period..
