Planting a tree

planting treesHorticultural cooperatives and fruit and vegetable industry plants deliver trees to orchards established under contractual agreements. On the other hand, small amounts of trees can be purchased directly in nurseries or in retail outlets specially organized for this purpose.
After the trees have been transported to the site, they must be pitted immediately, that is, set in the grooves, and cover the roots with earth.
The most favorable date for planting trees is October.
The trees planted at this time will have time to partially heal the wounds on the roots before winter, and even begin to develop new roots. The delay in planting causes, that the process of healing wounds and generating new roots shifts to the next spring of the year, and this negatively affects the growth of the trees in the first year and makes them more susceptible to drought and diseases of the bark and wood. It follows from what has been said above, that the spring planting date is unfavorable. If there is a need for spring planting, this should be done very early, as soon as the soil is thawed.
Two people plant the trees. One,equipped with a secateurs, cuts off broken roots, and then inserts the tree into the hole keeping it upright and at that height, that the vaccination site is located 3-4 cm above the ground. The second person shovels soil onto the roots. The poured soil should not be lumpy. It is very important to tread the ground strongly as it is covered with soil. This is usually done by that person, which supports the tree.
