Protection of vegetable plants

shallot onionsIn the vegetable garden, the starting point for all preventive actions is compliance with the crop rotation: not growing related plants after each other, so that diseases and pests do not spread. If a species has become massively infested, it should not be cultivated for several years. Also, all remnants of diseased plants must be removed, bury it in deep pits or burn it, under no circumstances should it be composted. You should also observe the plants frequently and immediately after noticing the first symptoms of infection, remove the outbreak or start a mechanical fight immediately., by collecting pests.
It is very important to provide plants with appropriate growth conditions, because well-nourished and grown they are more resistant to diseases. Soil cultivation should be careful, e.g. deep plowing throws up wintering pests in the form of eggs to the soil surface and reduces their numbers. One of the most important methods is thorough weeding, because weeds are the host of pests and the basis of disease development, especially in spring, when there is still a lack of vegetable crops. Chemicals should always be used in accordance with the safety rules and for their proper purpose, in the right concentration and optimal times, with a sufficient term of office until vegetables or fruit are harvested.
The timing of sowing and planting is chosen like this, so that they do not fall in the period of increased occurrence of pests and diseases. The early sowing of onions significantly reduces the risk of infection by the onion cream, carrots – by the shepherdess of the carrot, and the peas – by oprzędziki. Proper spacing protects against the spread of fungal diseases, which develop with high humidity. Plants planted less frequently – they dry out faster after rain. Maintaining cleanliness when performing
cutting prevents the transmission of viruses and therefore tomato side shoots are better to break out than to cut with a knife, because on the edge of a knife, in juice, pathogens may be present. Birds and pest-eating insects are useful, e.g. ladybugs and their larvae, which feed on aphids.
Despite careful cultivation, it can happen, that only this will come from the field, what pests and diseases left behind. To avoid this, you need to stock up on the "garden first aid kit" with basic preparations: zoocides – for pest control and fungicides – to combat disease.
