Wooden element, buried with its tip into the ground, must be protected against biological corrosion. You can burn it in the fire, can be covered with bituminous preparation – such, as used for waterproofing a foundation or a roof with a tar board. We will get good results, when the end of the post is painted with a thin clay solution and only then we burn it in the fire, leading to carbonization of the surface. Such charring will contribute to deeper saturation with the bituminous preparation.
