Sheet metal bending

A number of flashings require the sheet to be bent with a certain radius. This can only be done then, when the sheet is mounted in the jaws of a vice together with a steel shaft of an appropriate diameter. In such an arrangement, by hitting the sheet with a rubber hammer, you can bend the sheet exactly like this, to obtain the correct bend radius. However, remember about the elasticity of the material. The shaft must be slightly smaller in diameter, but longer than the width of the sheet being bent.
