The advantages cannot be overstated, provided by a drill mounted in a vertical stand. In general, the stand is permanently screwed to the workbench. But then it interferes with other works, e.g.. you cannot put a large plate on the table. However, we can screw the stand to a thick plate hinged to the edge of the table. After finishing work, the stand with the plate can be turned like this, so that the whole thing is hidden under the table top. For work, the plate and the stand are folded back onto the table top and fastened with a typical carpenter's clamp.
