Only the correct setting of the planer blade guarantees the proper quality of the processed surface. The blade from the foot must be evenly extended, and more importantly, to the right size. To adjust the blade, hit the rear part of the plow foot with a hammer. This will pop the wedge out. Only then can we properly set the blade by extending it to the desired size. After that, we hit the wedge, to permanently position the blade. The blade will also become wedged after lightly hitting the forward plow against the metal plug.
