High forces are generated when the nails are pulled out with the metal claw. Sometimes the surface of the wood, from which we take the nail, it dents. We will not let it happen, by sliding a rubber sleeve over the shoulder of the paw, e.g. section of the old garden hose. Instead of a rubber sleeve, you can stick with a suitable glue, e.g.. A piece of thicker rubber or soft plastic with butaprene.
