When drawing water, it can be troublesome to submerge a bucket suspended on a long rope. This will be facilitated by a piece of PVC pipe slipped over a string and hooked over the bottom edge. In this position, the bucket is easily submerged in water, because it sinks edge and bottom up into the water. Once the water flows into its interior, its weight causes the tube to become unhooked from the bottom edge. Thus, it hovers vertically and fills up completely with water. After that, they can be pulled outside.
